Procrastination

No time for surfing the internet to find stories about creationist museums. There’s so much to be done. I have got to start unpacking. I have go to clean up in Raleigh. I plan to concentrate on the former today. But there’s also work-related work to be done. I just want to relax. I slept in until 9:45 this morning. I wish I hadn’t, because the extra sleep just brought be dreams about high school, which my mind could do without.

As much as I would like to get comfortable with all of my neighborhood, I’ll probably be taking H towards East Campus on most of our walks rather than the path away that we took yesterday. H and I really enjoyed our walk this morning. So many trees and leaves and people…so much stimuli. I’ve started to become amused by H’s barking at other dogs. People smile when they see H. The walk away from East Campus is, in all honesty, depressing. If anyone bothers to look in our direction, the look given is one that says, “What’s up with the white boy and his dog?” I said, if anyone bothers. Most people are just looking away with unhappy and disinterested looks. It’s depressing. I don’t need that.

It’s odd…I feel like my house is on a dividing line between white, thriving, happy urban Durham and black, disenchanted, depressed urban Durham.

Enough procrastination…work to be done…
